Responsibilities

Summary:

The position is primarily intended to enhance Lupin’s position in the specialty pharmaceutical business in the US through acquisitions and partnerships.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will identify, evaluate and pursue the strategic, clinical and financial prospects of new product/business opportunities.
  • Will direct the assessment of future markets and licensing potential, and will be responsible for coordinating scientific and commercial input to specific programs as necessary.
  • Will establish new scientific and strategic partnerships, joint ventures and alliances in collaboration with the company’s R&D organization.
  • Follow-up on all partnership activity including the tracking, documentation and status reporting of all collaborations along the business development pipeline.
  • Will establish and implement appropriate business development strategies to support company’s strategic growth goals.
  • Will have a key role in establishing licensing strategies.
  • Will interact with existing corporate contacts, facilitate communication, keep track of milestones and identify scope enhancing these relationships.
  • Will support the corporate objectives with respect to enhancing value of the company’s generic business through creative partnerships.
  • Will support the effort to license out drug delivery and NCE assets.

 

Qualifications

  • MBA  (Science degree preferred)
  • Licensing and Business Development experience of at least 10-15 years
  • Successful track record in bringing deals to closure  - “deal sheet”
  • Strong scientific/technical background
  • Significant exposure to drug delivery technology and related out-licensing activity (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of professionals and be able to think ‘out of the box’
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the processes of due diligence, , alliance integration and portfolio management
  • Some travel is required
  • Experience from Specialty Pharmaceutical, Drug Delivery or other Rx Pharmaceutical companies.
