Overview

The Engineering Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and supporting activities associated with the plant and machinery of the LIRC site. Support includes Metrology, Calibration and general equipment and manufacturing activities at the Lupin Coral Springs site. This position is responsible for maintaining the plant and machinery as well as equipment in good state of repair, preventative schedules; and assist in execution of any Capital Improvement Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Take corrective action in case of any irregularities in the equipment/machines in consultation with Sr. Facilities and EH&S Manager and or Laboratory Operations.
  • Provide necessary support to manufacturing department to get more productivity in daily activity.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedule for facilities, manufacturing, packaging and scientific equipment.
  • Working in a team environment conducting large site wide cross functional team projects.
  • Technical operations of U.P.S. systems, emergency generators, air handling and distribution systems.
  • Apply knowledge of measurement sciences to implement ensure measurement accuracy in calibration of inspection, measurement and test equipment (IM&TE).
  • Maintain Calibration Standards.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures.
  • Supports the operation of the production and packaging lines.
  • Maintains production equipment and production lines.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all projects.
  • Maintain the facility in a good state of repair (Repairs and Preventative maintenance).
  • Assist in the execution of any Capital Improvement Projects.
  • Take safety precautions while attending jobs.
  • Aids in changeovers and production mechanical problems (pMDI and DPI).
  • Designs and aids in fabrication of machine modifications.
  • Establishes and maintains spare parts inventory.
  • Expected to work at a constant reasonable pace, neatly and efficiently, and as a team player with other employees.
  • Set the example for teamwork, cooperation, safety, respect and work ethic for all employees.
  • Continues to work on and update the lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Department of Environmental Protection duties include assisting in the containment and cleanup of spills, and alarm systems.

Qualifications

Education:

Technical School, Industrial Certifications, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred

Required Experience:

  • Manufacturing/Packaging Mechanic: 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, cGMP knowledge and experience preferred
  • Electrical and or Air Handling system knowledge and experience: 5+ years
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • pMDI and DPI Filling and packaging equipment operation
  • Calibration/Metrology
  • Troubleshooting and repair Industrial safety equipment set-up
  • Hazardous Material handling
  • Electro/pneumatic troubleshooting
