  • Overview

    Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Financial Services, the Product Manager, Institutional & Specialty Generics manages the inline products, new product launches, and various marketing programs to support the Sales efforts for these products. In addition, the PM will play a critical role in pipeline development to identify and build a portfolio of institutional & complex generic products not limited to complex injectables and biosimilar products. The Product Manager will drive the product launch process and cross-functional coordination for new products. Manages near-term launches (<24 months) to support the growth of the Generics department. Maintains integrated launch plans by preparing for and being a key member of the Commercialization meetings and working with team members to coordinate launches in terms of timing and marketing efforts. Manages REMS programs, marketing and advertising programs, which could include telemarketing, development of journal ads, and website development. Integrates with Regulatory and the IPMG group and develops and maintains the 24 Month Launch Calendar. Participates in Customer Meetings and develops presentations in conjunction with Sales department.


    • Works closely with the Sr. Director of Financial Services & Marketing to set Rx Generics product strategy to achieve sales objectives based on market share, unit and ASP assumptions that support successful product launches, increase market penetration and profitability.
    • Provides market intelligence and insight to establish strategic and tactical marketing plans.
    • Develops a portfolio of products in cooperation with the portfolio development and R&D team.
    • Focus on novel delivery mechanisms to differentiate Lupin portfolio.
    • Creates programs to differentiate Lupin Pharmaceuticals Generics from the competition.
    • Manages advertising and promotional spend to be at or below expense budget while maximizing value and ROI.
    • Establishes strategy and forecast demand for generic product launches to meet market share, volume and revenue objectives.
    • Provides accurate forecasts to be used to support the Company requirements relating to annual budgets, strategic plans, capacity expansions, ad-hoc and recurring financial projections.
    • Establishes and maintains a network of secondary and primary research information in support of planned Generic products to develop product launch plans and strategies.
    • Monitors Generic competitors’ business and launch activities. Towards that end, participates in Sales and Marketing calls, maintaining direct contact with the EVP of Generics, VP of Sales, Generics and Directors of National Accounts to understand market needs.
    • Works closely with Supply and Logistics Manager to properly align generic demand and production to eliminate backorders or excess inventory.
    • Maintains a close working relationships with his/her peers to devise and execute an integrated commercial strategy.
    • Develops and maintain a strong working relationship with Regulatory and IPMG Teams.
    • Special Projects as needed.


    • BA/BS degree in Science, Business or Marketing (MS in Marketing or MBA preferred).
    • A well rounded professional with 8+ years experience in the Generic Rx institutional pharmaceutical industry to include 2 or more years of leadership in an organization of similar or greater complexity and revenue size. Biosimilar sales and marketing experience is critical.
    • Strong strategic marketing experience where the individual has successfully driven market share against generic competitors.
    • Strong leadership skills, high energy, and a passionate champion for the business with an ability to quickly establish credibility throughout the organization.
    • Strong analytical skills, prior experience working with forecasts, analyzing market research results to turn data into actionable insights, and a strong focus on business analytics as a means to improve and grow the business.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills and an ability to work with diverse internal and external constituents.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and execute multiple short- and long-term projects, while meeting all deadlines.
    • Strong ability to identify/anticipate opportunities, challenges and road blocks, while maintaining a solutions-focused approach and develops plans accordingly.
    • High level of computer office proficiency required, especially in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Proficiency in managing and directing agencies and strategic vendors.
    • Managing and working within budgets.
    • Ability to collaborate across multiple priorities and internal and external functional groups.
